Your Questions.
Scripture at the Center.
A thoughtful reading experience begins with a clear understanding of what is Scripture, what is storytelling, and how the two are meant to be read together.
Explore the Purpose of the BookThe Book and Its Purpose
What Is King James Bible: The Experience?
A forthcoming collection pairing King James Scripture with a separately identified literary narrative by George Michael Mercier. Scene-setting, short reflective passages, repetition, and a creative exploration of human experience offer another way to engage with the biblical account. Rooted in love for God and Christ and reverence for the Bible, its purpose is to encourage readers to connect or reconnect with Scripture through attentive reading and conversation.
Does It Replace or Claim to Improve on the Bible?
No. Michael always defers to the original KJV text as the canonical, authoritative source. His creative narrative interpretation accompanies the Scripture to encourage engagement with it. It does not replace or correct the Bible, claim greater accuracy, or present new revelation.
Why Include the Entire King James Text?
Keeping the source text present allows readers to compare the narrative directly with Scripture. The intention is to include the complete KJV across the finished series, rather than substitute a shortened retelling for the Bible. The New Testament is being prepared first; the Old Testament is planned. The series is not yet complete, and passage coverage and final volume divisions are still being checked.
Is This a New Translation or Scholarly Commentary?
It is neither a new translation of the original biblical languages nor a scholarly commentary. Michael writes as a storyteller. The creative narrative invites readers into the scene and its human experience. It is a literary approach, rather than an explanation of doctrine or an academic analysis of the passage. The original Scripture remains the authority.
Is the KJV Presented as the Only Bible Christians Should Read?
The KJV is the foundation chosen for this project. That choice is not a claim that every church must use it or that other translations are invalid. Readers and churches can evaluate the Experience within their own study practices and traditions.
The Creative Approach and Biblical Authority
How Does the Author Approach Narrative Detail?
Michael approaches each passage as a narrative writer. Scene-setting, dialogue, emotional perspective, and pacing form part of his creative interpretation. Where the narrative expands, condenses, or gives particular attention to a moment, that is a storytelling decision, rather than a commentary on what Scripture should say. These creative details belong to the companion narrative; the original KJV remains the canonical, authoritative source.
Is This Adding to God’s Word?
The intention is not to add words to Scripture or present the narrative as inspired revelation. It is a separate literary work alongside the biblical text. The original text remains intact as the source for the project, with the creative narrative identified separately. Readers and church leaders are invited to explore the samples and consider the approach within their own reading and study practices.
What if I Disagree With an Interpretation?
The Experience offers a narrative writer’s creative interpretation, and readers may respond differently to its choices of perspective, emphasis, or pacing. Michael defers to the original Scripture. Return to the passage in context and explore it with your church or study community; the narrative is there to encourage that engagement.
Has the Manuscript Been Fully Reviewed for Accuracy?
Editorial preparation is still underway. Complete passage coverage, text checking, and final publication review remain part of the work before release. We are not presenting the draft as a finished theological review or claiming endorsement from churches or denominations. The public samples are draft excerpts and may change.
Was AI Used in Creating the Project?
Michael has described using AI assistance for drafting and editing, followed by his own review and revision. The manuscript remains in editorial preparation. The biblical scenes and lifestyle artwork on this site are AI-generated artistic illustrations. They are not historical photographs, testimonials, or evidence of church endorsement.
Reading Alone, at Home, or at Church
How Is the Book Meant to Be Used?
Read the KJV passage first, then the related narrative, then return to Scripture. Keep the original text as your point of reference as you explore the author’s creative interpretation. Use it for personal reflection or discussion alongside your usual Bible reading, prayer, and study.
How Could a Church or Small Group Use It?
A leader can review a sample in advance, read the Scripture with the group, and then discuss the companion narrative. Useful questions include: What does the original passage say? How did the creative narrative help us engage with it? What would we like to read or study further? Group pricing, church participation, and access arrangements have not yet been finalized.
How Can Families and Younger Readers Use It?
The accessible narrative approach may offer younger readers a way into a passage, especially when reading with a parent, pastor, or trusted guide. Read the Scripture together, explore the narrative, and make room for their questions. Parents and ministry leaders should review and select passages for their readers’ age and understanding, including the Bible’s more mature themes. This is not a separately adapted children’s edition, and no age rating has been established.
Can I Read Only the Narrative?
You can explore a sample to hear the writing’s voice, but the intended reading method keeps Scripture central. The narrative’s pacing and focus are creative storytelling choices. Reading it alongside the whole biblical passage lets the original text continue to guide the experience.
Books, the Reader, and What Comes Next
When Can I Buy the Books?
The first New Testament Experience volumes are in preparation, with an Amazon launch planned. Final contents, formats, pricing, purchase links, and release dates will be announced when ready. Joining the launch list is free and does not place an order.
How Does the Online Reader Work?
The free prototype offers six sample passages, passage lookup, keyword search, text-size controls, and line, verse, chapter, or book views. You can switch the source Bible between King James Version (KJV), World English Bible (WEB), and Berean Standard Bible (BSB). Michael’s narrative remains the same KJV-based companion when you change the source. Alignment is a reading aid, not a claim that every narrative line corresponds exactly to one verse.
Will the Full Platform Require a Subscription?
A subscription-based platform is planned. The current sample reader is free and requires no sign-in. Pricing, launch timing, and included content are not yet confirmed. Joining the launch list creates no paid subscription or charge.
What About Spanish, Audio, and Other Editions?
Spanish and other translations, an audiobook, future volumes, and visual or contextual material linked from print are planned areas of development. Additional licensed Bible versions may be explored for the platform. Production, editorial work, permissions where needed, and funding must be resolved before release dates or features can be promised.
How Do the Novels and Publisher Fit In?
The Bible - The Novel titles are separate companion works of sustained biblical fiction. The passage-by-passage Experience is the flagship project. Lux Amoris Press is the Christian publishing home of the Experience, dedicated to helping readers connect with Scripture.
Will There Be a Fundraising Campaign?
A campaign is being prepared to support completion, publication, future formats, the online platform, and donated-copy initiatives alongside the planned Amazon launch. It is not live yet. Approved funding goals, how funds will be used, and any supporter arrangements will be published before fundraising begins.
